The Parish Council has carried out a hedge survey to support Laxfield’s Biodiversity Action Plan, which helps to improve our green spaces and promote a greater range of animal and plant habitats. The survey covered the hedge around the Church, bordering Church Villas and Church Walk. A plan has now been drawn up showing the main plants found in the hedge in pictorial form, along with a detailed written survey. From this, a five-year rolling plan of improvement has also been developed.

"Our contractor unexpectedly stopped paper bank collections in the districts on 1 May, as we understand it is no longer viable for them to continue with the service.
As such, they will shortly begin removing the banks from site, and any recycling credits will continue to be paid until this happens.
We are exploring if possible alternative schemes could provide a cost effective solution, and will, of course, keep our towns and parishes updated on developments.
However, in the meantime, we continue to recycle paper and cardboard widely across Suffolk, through residents’ kerbside recycling collections – where we will also collect additional dry, flattened, cardboard left beside recycling bins, and at local recycling centres."
